I am well educated and trained on the science of nutrition and diabetes. I obtained my bachelors and masters degree from the University of Incarnate Word, San Antonio, TX. As a licensed dietitian I have whole-heartedly provided nutrition counseling, diabetes management, and meal planning in the acute, sub-acute, long term care, and public healthcare settings prior to offering my individual services through DANS.

I have worked many years for a diverse range of health-care facilities nationwide, such as the Delmarva Foundation, Providence Hospital, Greater Southeast Hospital and the WIC Program in Washington, DC, as well as Joslin Diabetes Center in Lanham, Maryland.

I currently use my experience and skills in management, nutrition counseling and diabetes education to empower my clients and patients to self-manage their medical conditions through mindful eating, behavior modification, diet and exercise. I am the author of several train-the trainer manuals for entry level dietitians and diabetes educators. Lastly, I have been chosen to be a presenter for the 2020 and 2021 Annual Association of Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (ADCES).
